I was 6 foot 4 inches at 16 years of age (of course, I'm a guy, so the situation isn't quite the same) but I have the same issues with clothing you discribe.
Your hieght has nothing to do with how another person sees you (although your attitude about it, does.)
Why do you hate yourself? At 17 you're just beginning your life. If its about boys and dating, I can tell you for a fact that when the right one comes along, it won't make any difference to him if you're taller than he is. He'll love you for the person you are inside, not outside.
So you take up a little more space on this planet than other girls; so its difficult to find things to wear - learn how to sew, hell, start your own line of clothing for tall girls. You could make a mint!

My wife is 5'10" and gorgeous. I think tall women are sexy and elegant. As you get older, you will find it easier to meet guys who are not so intimidated by you. She always talks about being in school and being the tallest girl and taller than all the guys, too. She had a great career as a model and people were intimidated by her, too. Believe it or not, this will give you an advantage in the business world and once you get out of high school. Be proud of your height, walk tall and don't worry about it right now. There is a lot more to life than your high school years.

hey, you're only 17! the boys will grow taller soon. just don't wear heels. flats are totally cute anyway. when you buy jeans, make sure you go to a store like the buckle so that you can get it fit in inches to your hips and your heigth as well. i had a really tall friend who went to the mall of america to buy jeans and she actually was able to find jeans that were TOO LONG for her and she was so excited! also, there was this really tall guy in my class in high school, and he used to slouch over all the time to reduce his heigth, but it just made him look hunchbacked! stand up tall, and be proud. it's way better than being short and fat. good luck.

Haha. I don't think you can actually shrink yourself. Maybe you should just find a guy that's a bit more secure with himself. Hey, I'm a guy and I'm 5'4'' and I'm not intimidated by taller women. After all, I can't be considering that I'm on the bottom half in terms of height in general. Just except it and enjoy your height. Trust me, there WILL be someone that likes that. Just like some girls seem to like guys that are around the same height they are.

You are the height you are, learn to love it and love yourself. You cannot make yourself shrink any more than short people can make themselves grow taller.
If you dig you, other people will too...and there are 6' and taller guys out there so you shouldn't have TOO much trouble finding men to date who are taller than you...and those shorter than you will likely want to date you too.

Many guys LOVE tall women....as long as you are lean, not fat, you will get LOTS of guys interested in you, once you leave shcool.
