Yes. People sabotage themselves all of the time. I work in the mental health field and have clients who suffer from severe depression, but refuse to take the medication that will help them feel better.

I dont think this is true in the sense of if you have a mental illness and you take your meds even with counselling you're never really 'normal' and happy and a lot of that has to do with the depression itself and its causes.

Absolutely. All actions originate with thought . . . if your thoughts aren't positive then you create a negative reality for yourself . . . it's all in the way you look at things.
