When I worked at a stressful job and went to college at night, I'd get hives right before a test. The doctor diagnosed the hives as stress induced. He said that stress depletes the body of B-vitamins so I started taking a B multivitamin and the hives decreased. After I quit the stressful job to attend college full time, no more hives.

You probably are allergic to something, but you haven't found what it is yet. Since the hives appear only on your head, it could be perfume, make-up, or hair spray. Try eliminating these products and see if the symptoms go away.

Good luck!

you probably are slightly allergic to something, you just don't realize it. Perhaps it is a soap or perfume, or other personal hygiene products. Try figure out what the aggravating factor is. If a cortisone cream is getting rid of it, then more than likely u r suffering from some kind of allergic reaction.

The common causes of hives include the following:
-exposure to the cold (like diving into a cold pool)
-itching of the skin
-exercise
-headache
-swelling of the face, tongue or hands
-extreme cold or sun exposure
-excessive perspiration
-some of the chemicals released sensitize pain nerve endings, causing the area to become itchy and sensitive

Runner; In about i986, I got something [resembling] THE worst case of hives
ANYONE had ever seen; (IF it, indeed WAS 'Hives"..)
-from a boatman.. rubbing my back.. as I was seasick on a banka-ride, from Batangas, -to White Beach, Peurto Galera, Mindoro..

The only cure was to show my severely -AND super-itchy back-
, back AT a doctors, at Batangas!
When, on removing my shirt.. (near crazy with itch..)
, the experienced doctor went; REELING BACKWARD -in SHOCK!
He called his wife: they agreed, they'd NOT seen the like OF it!

Batangas 'ocean' is severely contamminated with; resudue / pollution)
-from a coal-fired power-station (which manages to also infect Sabang Beach, Mindoro..)
-but I'm guessing @ the relevance OF that -to MY temporary condition -in'86..
.
WHAT I AM saying is: YOU (may) have some 'Kuri-Kong' affliction -far more serious than you can ever imagine.. (but one THAT -as with mine- CAN be "cleared-up" with ONE injection): Too easy!

You must be allergic to something. If you are taking Prednisone, then you MUST be seeing a doctor - have you tried asking THEM?

It could be nerves or it could be a face wash or soap you are using try other products and see if that clears up the problem.

I'd surf the net for medical information. Here are a few: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hives
www.medicinenet.com/hives
www.intelihealth.com
www.nlm.gov/medlineplus/hives.html
GOOD LUCK!
