Most wines are anywhere from 9% alcohol to 15% alcohol, so they have more alcohol in them than beer (unless you're talking about certain types of very strong European beer). How much it takes to get drunk depends on your body weight and your tolerance to alcohol. Some people can get very tipsy on one glass of wine, but other people can drink a whole bottle and not even feel it. WARNING: Don't ever drink to get drunk. It's a good way to get yourself killed -- either by drinking and driving or by drinking so much that you get alcohol poisoning and go into an alcohol-induced coma.

As a general rule, wine has between 10 to 15 % alcohol by volume. The old measure was Proof. It depends on your ethnic origin, your metabolism and also your alcohol tolerance. Heavy drinkers need more alcohol before they get intoxicated. As The Travelling Gourmet, I give Wine masterclasses and organise special wine and food events, and I have seen people inebriated on 3 glasses of wine. Of course, it should be realised that alcohol should be enjoyed in moderation and is only healthy in moderation.

It depends on the type of wine. Some wine has a lot - like 13% and some has very little - like 6%. I'm only 5' 2" and I can drink an entire bottle of the 13% and not get drunk. (I'm Catholic!) :-D Depends on your tolerance. I also find that red makes me more tipsy than white.

Most wines are like 12% alchohol. It depends on how much you can handle, if you drink often or not. Some people can get a nice buzz from like 2 glasses. Personally, I need about 4-5 to get even close to a buzz! Drink up!

Most wines are about 20-25 proof, or %10-12.5 alcohol. The actual numbers can vary. As far as how much you have to drink, that depends on SEVERAL factors. What you last ate. When you last ate. Your size. Your body fat %. Your mood. Some people naturally have higher tolerances to alcohol.

Lowest alcohol content of wine is about 6% VINHO VERDE
Highest for an unfortified wine is 17% after that it is classed as a fortified wine.
Tolerance to alcohol is a personal thing and depends on many factors: health, consumption of food, mood, age etc.

The bottle lists how much alcohol it has. Even so-called non-alcoholic beers and wines still have some alcohol in them, so minors cannot purchase them.

How much it takes to get drunk depends on the individual. Some people can get drunk with just one sip of something, while it takes someone else quite a bit before they feel any effects.

Wine has an alcohol content of around 10-15%. 4oz of wine is roughly equal to 1 12oz can of beer or 1 1oz shot of hard liquor. How much it takes to get drunk varies on size and tollerance of the individual.
