why cant people just give their pets a normal name like dave

I don't see it as a "trend". I simply see it as people giving their pet a name that they like.

I see more of the Rex & Max being given to children, than pets.

Mine is Sirius.

I havn't seen a trend anywhere with dog names, people normlly just namre their dogs based off personality or somthing more common like that. my dogs are Daisy, Sadie, and Tank. I just personally havn't seen a trend.

not sure if your totally right but my dogs names are jazz and star... on falls under but the other doesnt....

also names that are commonly used for people are realy a bad idea.... after all there not children.... plus they need to funky - for a better word - that i just cant think of at the minute.
