You need to train him. The huge problem with people using these mats is the poor dog has to be taught twice. It's much simpler to house train the dog correctly in the first place (and for when you're not there, keep him in a crate until he IS reliably housetrained, then he can have the run of the house).
Keep him in the room with you so you can keep an eye on him. At 7 months he has full bladder control, so, except for his confusion, he'll be easy to train. When he's acting restless (circling, sniffing with his nose down), or after hard playing, take him out. You need to go with him, say "go pee" and the very second he does, give him lots and lots of praise and come back in. This way he learns to differentiate play time outside and potty time outside.
If you use lots of praise and do not give him the chance to make a mistake, he'll learn very quickly. But if you do want him housetrained, you'll have to get rid of the pee pads or he'll only be totally confused and not know what he's supposed to do.

Put the mat by the door that he goes outside from and every time he goes to the mat take him out.Reward him whenever he does what you want and he will soon get the hang of it but if the reward isn't straight away he wont know what its for so you must watch him whilst he is out...you cant always tell straight away when a pup is weeing!eventually he wont use the mat because he will think its great to go outside and get a treat for doing his biz!just ignore and clean up any accidents with a pet detergent and stick at it..it should only take a couple of weeks.good luck!

there really isn't a way to teach what you are asking. at 7 months, your pup should be able to hold it for quite a while, but by putting in the training mats, you are basically giving him permission and a place to go in the house. unless you plan on allowing him to go on mats inside for the rest of his life, i would suggest crate training him for the times you are not there. its pretty rare for dogs to go in their own crate, as long as they are allowed outside frequently enough. when you are home, make sure he gets out enough, and if you catch him going somewhere inappropriate say "no!" and take him outside right away. when he goes outside praise him like crazy! he will probably be confused at first, but he'll get it eventually!

ok once you feed him contained in the morning and also supply him a drink Take him out a walk after he has had his breakfast and be sure its a lengthy walk and also be sure he does the bathroom an excellent type of cases in the previous you carry him lower back into the homestead. the suitable ingredient is do not supply him an excellent type of water supply adequate that his bladder can take because he will pee in case you supply him a brilliant bowl finished. So once he's fed and had a drink take him out on walks were he can do the bathroom some cases. do not over fill his water bowl, keep in options he's in consumer-friendly words a small domestic dog his bladder can in consumer-friendly words take a lot. once you come back lower back from a short walk at nighttime do not supply him water because he will pee even as your napping be sure you supply him his supper and then take him a walk! ok the lengthy walks could tire him out besides, if it doesn't play with him contained in the backyard be sure he has a good run about. ok now about the chewing get a good number of chew toys and positioned 2-3 in each room the domestic dog is going in also try putting a take care of interior it yet make it not hassle-free for him to get so as that way once you come back lower back he will nonetheless be attempting to get to the take care of thats stuck contained in the toy.

At the age of seven months your dog has gained full control of his bladder and bowels.
You now need to get rid of the pee pads and teach him to go outside.
I never train a dog to go on peper or pads in the house as you are teaching them it is ok to go in the house as long as it is on the paper.
Now you still have to house break him and he thinks it is ok to g o on paper.
Take up the mats and only leave one down when you are gone. Or crate train him if he is not already.
Take him out and priase him when he goes outside. Teach him to ask to go out. At seven months is should not take long to teach him to go outside.

when you are not in the house and the dog has to go he will go, its just a reaction for them they dont even think about it, basically leave the mat down for him where he would normally pee in the house, and when you come home take it up and only leave it down when your out! and let him out to the toilet in the garden as soon as you come home , and stand there and say 'go toilet' he should sniff around and will go, you will need to let him out at least every 1/2 hr starting off and repeat the 'go toilet' he will understand very quickly but you have to let him out! until you figure out your own patteren! i dont have a dog flap in my house so i leave my dog go on newspaper if he has to during the day and at night ill let him out and stand over him until he has gone as many times as he needs to go! its all about building a routine! but its up to you to train him! It's not fair to expect a pup to hold it in while your not there leaving the mat down should nt be considered bad it just lets him know its ok to pee here! plus if s a small dog like I have the cant physically hold it!

I guess there's no way to do it. They only knows one way: allowed or not allowed. But try to put lemon nearby when you're inside, and remove the lemon when you're going, but that won't work long.
