In the USA, its 5 foot 10 inches on average for a 20 year old. See this graph of stature for different ages (a .pdf file). To see how you compare to the average, look at whether you lie on the 50% line (average height) or one of the lines above or below it. For example, if you lie on the 70% line, you are taller than 70% of other men.
The tallest people are the Dutch (5' 11.5'' for secondary school students). The men are starting to need longer beds, at home and in hotels.
