Can record directly from the soundcard and save a file, then shutdown the computer? I need such a program because I want to listen to the radio programme at night but I got to sleep. Currently, the only option is to set the timer for a recording but I still have to leave the computer on till the next day and save it manually before shutting the computer down. If the shut-down part is not available, I'll need at least the auto-save part. Then I'll use another timer programme to shutdown Windows.

Absolute recorder is the best free IMO. But it needs a manual shutdown

to do that in a simple way, you can try to use the Windows Movies Maker, there is a recording feature in there. you can set the total time to record them save it auto and use a "shutdown" command in windows to shutdown the windows.

Happy Trying...
