If you exceed the speed limit by more than 30mph then normally you face a ban. the length of which varies as depends to some extent on circumstance. Typically it is 6 months but is often longer

More than 30 over a limit constitutes dangerous driving, so yes an automatic ban will be his, probably a year, maybe more if he gets some sanctimonious git in front of him.

Tough break, you puts your foot down and takes your chances, we've all done it - some more than others obviously, I do it all the time, i'll get caught eventually Im sure but them the breaks.

I didnt buy a fast car to crawl along all the time - i'm sure he's the same.

I think a ban is double the speed limit or over 100mph. I reckon he's looking at 6 points and a nice fine.
I think they are reluctent to ban speeders now as they'd rather catch them again and get more money out of them

Automatic ban is over 100 mph, but he'll be hit with a lot of points.

Ignore the, 'over 100 mph' merchants. They are wrong. The correct answer is the 30mph over the limit is classed as dangerous driving. 30mph over the limit - automatic ban.

Hello, not to be obtuse the answer is a positive yes unless he can convince the magistrate of a believable life or death reason as to why he was going that fast(cant think of one myself and if magistrate takes offence at excuse ban can be doubled) So it is public transport or shanks es pony for a fair while to come Trevor

i think 30mph over a speed limit is an automatic ban.

Not entirely sure, depends how he gets caught ie by police or camera and if it goes to caught coz I have heard of all sorts of different punnishments for people driving over 100 on a motorway
