Last thursday i came down with a throat infection and was quite ill, I had bad fever, light-headedness, headaches and aches and pain for about 4 days. I also had no appetite and barely ate. During this time my period was due, and it still hasnt arrived. Its now about a week late.
I have had period since I was 10 years old and they have NEVER been late, they are like clockwork. I dont think I can be pregnant because I have already had a period since the last time hubby and I had sex.
Could stress from the throat infection have affected my period

Yes, any illness can affect your periods so don't worry about it. They will return to normal when you are all better.

Stress, illness, high fever, low weight, medications, injury, etc. can upset your period.
You mentioned yourself that you were ill, had a fever, and ate little. I'm not surprised your period was off -- you really don't need to see a doctor to diagnose that one, it's pretty obvious. You may, however, want to see a doctor because you are ill.

each so often stress may reason your era to be late, or omit it. merely relax. Tighten up all of your muscle tissues from head to toe, or any opposite direction round. close your eyes and picture you're on a coastline or another relaxing position.

i work like clockwork too, so when i was late i was worried, but it could be the fact that your getting worried(stressed) can make you late, so relax it will come soon, just concentrate on getting better, and be pleased u dont have to stress bout going to loo to sort yourself out lol, just sleep xx
