Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Peter[b] and stayed with him fifteen days. 19I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord's brother.

Paul did not write brother about the other apostles why only toward James, it must mean something different then "brothers in Christ" or something like that otherwise he would not have singled out James only
it sounds like James is a biological half brother of Jesus - why is it so bad that Mary had more kids after Jesus
Catholics make it sound like Mary is less then who she is if she had more kids
and since I'm asking where do Catholics get scripture to back up that Mary remained a virgin her entire life

I agree.
Luke 2 says that at Jesus' birth, Mary brought forth her firstborn son, not her only child.
The fact that she had other children after Jesus does not diminish her role in the Savior's life.

This passage is about Paul wanting to have the pope's approval of his apostleship, he was not one of the original 12. He went there to get the approval of Peter the first pope.
Brothers means extended family, if Mary had other children why would Jesus leave her in the care of John when Jesus died on the cross? John 19: 26-27

Jesus is the only biological son of Mary but we are all her children as seen in Revelation 12:17.

It is exactly as you have surmised. James was the son of Joseph and Mary after the birth of Jesus. Get this, so was Jude.
