I've heard it's very effective.
Wouldn't use it myself, but it seems like a more friendly way of keeping the little blighters off.

I love cats!

It's not a good idea to use wild animal faeces in your garden, whether to stop cats or as fertiliser. They used to sell elephant poo from the zoo, but poo is obviously highly contaminated and can transmit disease. Did you know for example that humans and elephants can catch some nasty diseases from each other? I don't know if lion poo can pass disease to us, but I wouldn't recommend using it.

In any case, if cats smell other animals' smells they just mark and spray more frantically than ever to cover up the "invader" smells, so I think your solution would just exacerbate the problem.

using lion or tiger poo is the friendlyest way.

all that happens is:

the cat an smell the poo of a larger cat, and assumes that its the larger cats territory so they stay away.

its organic and does not harm the cats:)

unlike other harsh methods ppl use like electric fences :o

it does work, costs a bit but very effective. it makes the cats think there are lions about enough to scare em off. great idea and kind to your garden and the cats.

i tried the water in coke bottles. didnt work. grrrr.

I think no.
Cats respond to other cat's smell, but maybe they think lion is a very big cat, so they're scared.
Or maybe they think, "Hey!! You haven't clean your garden, it's very dirty! I won't go here anymore!"
Just for you to know, cats love anything hygiene.

Cats don't like the smell of orange so sprinkle some orange oil or scatter orange skins around

My neighbour used to use it in the 70's, she'd pay local kids to cart it from the circus and she swore it worked a treat. Now we use jelly crystals impregnated with orange oil.

I did try some mountain lion urine once to keep deer away. It didn't work.

Great idea if it would work for cats though.
