For camping trip. I will be cooking the 40 sausages first. After that, I will reuse the boiling water to cook 20 eggs. Need to know how many minutes would I need to ensure that they are hardboiled, they don't have to be pretty though. Aiya, you might as well tell me how many minutes I'll need to boil the hotdogs too =D

About 10 minutes, but here's the test:
Take an egg from the water, stand it on it's pointier end & spin it like a top. If it wobbles over & spins on it's side, it's not done.
Needless to say, be careful, it's hot.
Of course, you could just peel 1 & check.

Also, immediately shocking (drain, immerse in cold/ice water, let stand 5 minutes, repeat once.) them will help insure that they don't turn green around the yolk.

Reusing the water AFTER you boil the sausage will make the egg shells greasy and not very appealing. You should use fresh, clean water.
If your concerned about time, hardboil the eggs at home and then pack them for the trip. Put them back in the egg carton and refrigerate or keep very cool. That saves you a lot of time cooking on a camp fire or stove.

It depends on the temperature that the water gets to (- if on direct fire it would take probably no more than 6 minutes), from memory when I used to go camping it was between 8-10 minutes. You can test an egg by retrieving it from the boiling water with a spoon, place it in a tea towel (to stop your hand from getting burnt) and place an uncooked egg in the other hand, shake it (you can hear the raw egg "slop" and if the "cooked" egg is really heavy compared to the raw egg then it is cooked through.

I would suggest 8-10 minutes but always start with cold water. After cooking, run cold water over boiled egg for a second or two and start peeling at the large end first. It always works for me. good luck and happy cooking!

take how ever many eggs you want to boil, place them in a pan, and fill it with water until they cover the eggs, then boil for 2 minutes. then place a lid on them and remove from heat then wait 15 minutes. for the hot dogs, boil them for 10 minutes.

Boil the eggs for 8 minutes, any longer and you'll have green yolks.
