I know exactly what you are going thru, I have been in your shoes. The previous answer wrote about Chadd I have not found them to be helpful. Is your child in school yet? If so school can do some basic testing and then send you to a specialist if need be. If she is not in school then you have several different options. Such as taking her to a behavioral therapist, another gp, or you can also go to sites such as web md or just type in adhd testing in the search box. Doing this will give you lists of what doctors look for to help diagnose ADHD. Also depending on what other type of testing that is still ongoing a diagnosis of something different can also have characteristics of ADHD. It seems like now a days there is a lot of disorders that coexist if you will. I wish you the best of luck and if I can be of anymore assistance please feel free to message me.

ask to be referred to a developmental specialist. Unless her behaviour is extremely violent or disruptive to the extent she cannot be taught do not in any circumstance allow a referral to your local CAMHS unit.......this is the uneducated GPs first port of call but they are wholly untrained and unsuitable in most cases to diagnose any autistic spectrum and related disorder.
It does have to come from your GP tho as they have the money to pay for your daughter to see whoever is appropriate. You could also try the schools dr but they are likely to put you through to CAMHS. It really depends which area you live in.

contact your local health visitor or ask the school for a contact number for the local child development agency - they usually have someone who they can contact should they need advice or help. also if there is something like surestart (government child advice and help scheme) in your area.
have you tried looking for local ADHD centres in your area, as they will be able to help in many ways.
Have a look at some of the sites below, i hope they are helpful.

Since the most effective way to deal with ADHD seems to be diet why not just clean up your childs diet, remove chemicals from your house (i.e. air freshner, cleaning chemicals etc) and see how she goes. Do you really need a diagnosis?
