Sulayman's information about Islam having the highest conversion rate of any religion, 4 times all the others combined, is absolute bullshit, sorry to say. :P The World Christian Encyclopedia, which is an internationally accreditted religious reference, says Islam receives about 870,000 converts a year, while Christianity receives 2.5 million. And if you still don't believe me, let's go over a few countries' Muslim populations and converts.

In fact, the general tendency is that converts form a tiny percentage of new Muslims. The only country that's an exception to this is the States, where a third of all Muslims aare mostly African-Americans who converted sometime in the last 70 years. This owes to the Nation of Islam, or the Black Muslim League, the principle of Islam as a national religion for blacks to oppose "white" Christianity. I demonstrated this to a Muslim some time ago, but naturally was completely ignored.
Note that many religious statistics from Muslim sources are inaccurate. I once read that 100,000, or 130,000 Americans convert to Islam annually, but according to the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) which is run by Muslims, that figure is only 20,000.
Even Wikipedia states that "Data for Islam reveal that the growing number of Muslims is due primarily to the higher than average birth-rates and consequent population growths of Muslim countries and communities."

The number varies, between 1.4-1.6 Billion Muslims in the world. It's attributed to a higher birthrate, as well as the highest conversion rate of all religions (400% higher than all others combined).

No one can be sure but between 1.3-1.7 Biliion. Yes that means there could be 1 700 Million Muslims. And more to come :D
