The First Baptist Church believes in The Holy Bible, Bible study, baptism and singing praises to God. The Church believes Jesus was born of a virgin, suffered, died, rose from the dead and will come again. In the Bible it says that a tithing is 10% so any person who believes in God's word should do that. You can give as much as you want or as much as you are able. Nobody checks and says you only gave 5% or here's your money back because you gave 15%.

We encourage our members to tithe, because God told His people to give one-tenth of all they have to the Lord.

Less than 20% tithe, and less than 50% give anything.
That is typical in all Baptist churches and I assume in all churches.

Less than 20% are physically involved in the ministries of the church, doing something that is a service to the church.

Everybody gives according to their heart, and over half of the members have no problem with giving nothing.

I grew up going to a Baptist Church and was always taught that you give 10% tithe.

However we were always taught that if you can't afford 10% its ok to give less, as long as you really need the money for your family.

They teach from the Holy Bible.

Tithe = 10%

Offering = tithe plus more

I don't know for sure what they teach on that, but they do teach salvation. I believe all Christians should Tithe (give the 10%).

i believe that 10% is the tithe and that it belongs to God,an offering is over and above the tithe.so its tithes and offerings one does not replace the other.
