My 9 yr old daughter gave the bus driver the middle finger, a friend of mine said I should give her "Time Out". I think she needs a good old fashion butt beating.

I agree with the other person on all counts. How does this relate to Singles and Dating AND
Make sure she understands WHY the gesture is inappropriate and why she should not have done it to an adult. Find out where she learned it, why she did it and then help her find better ways to express her anger. "An old fashioned butt beating" will teach her nothing. Take away privileges or things she values. She is too old for time outs.

Maybe your daughter should apologize to the bus driver or write an apology letter to him/her and try to change that disrespectful behavior by making her sit in the front seat of the bus.

Oh comon, im 13 yrs old. I curse at my driver all the time. Theres nothing you can really do about it. People can be extremely rude sometimes, like I can to my driver. But if your that concerned, you better let her appologize because they see the same driver just about 3/4 the year.

Let her know that it's not nice for her to do that. She's 9, time out is over with. && I'm 16, I know how it is to get "butt beatings" it's not cool. She will become scared of you as she gets older. So that's deff. the wrong way to go. Talking is alot better, && you can ask her why she did that, && what they can do to fix things. Abuse is NOT the answer.

You should sat down and talk with hear about the inproper behavior. Because she is young and is still learning whats good and bad. She probably learn it from a friend. but teach her not to do it again. Then if she does it again you know what to do.

I do belive in the old butt spanking... but for that take cartoons...tv away for the day and let her know you know everything she does
and you will find out one way or the other...that scared my kids after they got caught about 2 times...I never let them know how i knew...LOL...also let her know if it happens again that little mid finger pops back up you will spank her...
