Well I am not sure if you are referring to all religions being stupid or just some of them.
Assuming you are referring to some of them, the only ones that come to mind are the cults that end up killing themselves to receive their reward in the afterlife. Those I believe are only about control. The leader is looking to control others for their own power.
If you are referring to all religions being stupid, I would say that this is your opinion and not everyone would agree with you. And it is your right to have that opinion just as it is their right (and mine) to disagree with you because we feel our faith gives us hope.

maybe they really believe in what they create and it's not stupid to them? you may not choose to believe, but it's not necessarily stupid.
