They must die via the injection not from blood poisioning!

Other than the fact that's its part of the Health and Safety regulations to have sterilised equipment, it is necessary to do this whether its for the lethal injection or an MMR jab.

Maybe so everybody can be sure of what caused the death and it might also help with the autopsy.

i think it is to protect the medical staff administering the dose so they don't get infected or contaminated if there is an accident

i think they just check that nothing goes wrong - so that it doesnt take any longer than it should - good question
