I have the pleasure of sharing my life with two shih tzu. Shih tzu is both singular and plural-BTW.

This breed needs a great deal of reassurance and some individual shih tzu are very emotionally needy.

You need to talk to in soothing tones, pet and stroke and just let know that it's ok.

Try to figure out what is happening that makes your shih tzu shake and then prevent the event that precipitates the shaking.

For both of my shih tzu it's any loud or sudden noises. Each dog is different.

Good Luck you have one of only a very few breeds of dogs that was bred solely to be a companion.

Probably nerves little dogs often suffer from it if they are unsure about their surroundings.
Talking to him gentle tones might help until he settles down in a new situation.
Bit like looking after a small child they need to feel safe.
