Happy Birthday firstly!

Are you sure you want to get over Tommy or do you have feelings for him that you want to explore? Once you know that it is a case of trying to leave the past in the past and moving on and focusing on now and the future.

It sounds as though you are happy with your boyfriend but only you know deep down what you want. To get over Tommy if that is what you want make sure you don't have text messages stored up and other reminders of the past that might make you think about him.

I hope it goes really well and that you resolve this how you really want. x

I suggest you return the ring since you took it under false pretenses. I also suggest that until you can handle such relatinships that you not get involved in them. It is really bad form to accept a ring from one guy when you are still "carrying the torch" for another guy. You should not have gotten into this relationship until you were completely over "Tommy". It's kind of rotten of you to mess with someone's emotions like this. Girls complain of guys doing the same things to them all the time and yet think nothing of it when they do it to the guys.

Work out why you like Tommy and then figure out why that isn't any better or worth than you've got with your current boyfriend. Or, seek to see whatever that trait is in your current boyfriend (if possible).

If you still can't let go maybe you should rethink going out with your boyfriend? Or having a break to sort your feelings out?
