I have thought of buying software on line but wonder if there is a no cost way. My digital camera (Kodak) saves as .mov files but i want to be able to work with video from my camcorder in Windows Movie Maker

in www.download.com you can download free softwares for any computer use
including video converters (check for a file called Super Converter, it converts from video to other video formats or even to audio

I highly doubt you'll find anything free that will do that conversion. Consider that .mov is Apple's QuickTime format. I have a Kodak Easy Share myself and was looking for an inexpensive converter, but it's pretty much shareware.
