What are farmers and peasents and what is the difference between the both?

farmers normal own the land they work.
they keep or sell their crops
peasants work for a "master" that owns the land.
they keep a small amount of the food but their "master" gets most of it

Farmer is a general term for people that work the land for someones profit. A peasant is generally a poor uneducated, land less worker.
