sounds like a plan, maybe you should run for parliment, as absolutely no one can do any worse than the tories or labour. about time we had a real person running the country how the people want it

Unfortunately it costs more money dreaming up mindless trench digging tasks for them (or prisoners, or whoever) to do than can be earned from the exercise.
Ask Stalin - his camps cost the USSR dearly in economic terms - they never paid for themselves, despite the political prisoners getting no pay for their labour. Sounds contradictory but that is how it works.
While "sending them all home" never seems to be too popular or practicable (or ethical?) there should certainly be some kind of review procedure for asylum seekers, after a certain number of years. After all, their home countries aren't going to stay unsafe indefinitely, and for the sake of their own countries they could be sent back when they no longer have any but economic reasons to be in the UK - as is the case with Kosovo, for example. Give them say three to five years permit, and then charter a bus.

Never mind the asylum seekers, should make the smackheads do some kind of work to keep themselves on social security payments.

I agree, this should count for anyone really. That if they are not benefiting society and helping out then they should either be made to work i.e community service. Or should be made to leave.

If you were forced to leave Britain because we had a war and many of your relatives were dead. Would you want to arrive in say Denmark and be told you had to dig trenches! I don't think so Things have to be pretty bad for you to want to leave you re country of origin. Illegal or legal, they need our sympathy..
