I know some people who have had major medical problems from tolulene exposure from their workplace, seizures, brain damage, personality changes, severe headaches, dizziness, loss of vision etc. I was wondering if anyone out there has had these problems too? Did the company you work or worked for do anything to solve the problems, did OSHA do their job in protecting you? Some people I know have devastating medical problems and I want to know if we should take action, legally on this, If you took legal action-what happened with your case. Thanks in advance for all of your help-I appreciate it very much.

Employees did not sign papers. Masks were purches but the company refused to buy cartridges for them. It appeared at the time that some employees were given hush money. OSHA came out said it was unacceptable, but they never came back and nothing changed.

Important to remember if anyone brought a paper around, (a boss or secretary) and asked you to sign it saying you knew you were being exposed to the substance. Did you sign any such paper? Usually a company with a substance such as tolulene, or asbestos will try to cover itself, so as not to be sued. OSHA, only protects so far. I remember a company that had extensive amounts of glass dust, asbestos, that would clean up, the factory before a visit from OSHA. I feel it defeats the purpose of the visit if they know in advance. You all should join together and ask a good lawyer to take the case on a contingency basis. The lawyer does not get any money unless he wins the case. Good Luck
