It never seems to be the right time. When are you most open to change your eating habits?

Either invite her to lunch at your house hopefully she compliments the food then you can suggest it. Or go to lunch with her somewhere that you know they serve healthy food. It's a tough conversation..

There will never be a right time if there is no willpower, interest or motivation.
Tell your friend that you are concerned for their health and that you will be willing to help them out by dieting with them, that way you can support each other.
Suggest that eating habits are changed gradually, for example change one thing each week; instead of snacking on crisps, try dried fruit, fresh fruit or even a small blueberry muffin is healthier than crisps. Swap Cola for a smoothie or fruit juice, add one vegetable extra to an evening meal...
There are thousands of ways to eat healthily, but its important to take it slowly, or you'll overwhelm yourselves and give up at the first hurdle.

It always the right time. This is what I get my clients to do if the family/friends are not being supportive.
Take them out for a nice long(the further the better)walk or cycle at a fairly brisk pace everybody will soon tire whilst you will look like you've only just started. It might seem cruel but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind! It is in moments like this that people realise they have to change and to stand any chance of success that person has to decide they want to do it for themselves and not because friends/family think it will be good for them.

The best way is by example. If your friend sees you eating right and exercising, and then sees the benefits - lean, toned beautiful body, higher levels of energy and good health....then your friend may be convinced.

Otherwise, you can't usually persuade someone to become interested in something they don't seem to care about.

However, to answer your final question, most people are open to consider radical lifestyle change when they're in the throes of disease, like a heart attack or something.

Good luck!

You have to want to eat healthily or else it will never work. Sometimes a shock technique can work though. Use an example of a time when (a very basic example) you've been out walking and they're out of breath after about 10 seconds of fast walking, to make a point of it.

You can spend years doing something like going to Weight Watchers / Slimming World but if you aren't serious about it, you won't stick to it and it won't work.

tell them that you also participate in the healthy diet thing to.

That way you two can do it together and he/she might not feel like the transistion is hard because theyll see you doing it to. =]

They might take it offensively if you just come right out and say it. so maybe say something like "my doctors putting me on a more healthy diet // Im going to start eating healthier, do you want to also, we could do it together?"

Its a great idea and I think your friend will find many good benifits from healthy eating.

Good luck!
