I just acquired a rescued kitten - I haven't had a cat since a kid and am loving every moment I have with him - I have bought him lots of toys and get books and magazines on cats, which I have never done before - and considering rescuing another one - now my mates are giving me a hard time about becoming a crazy cat person... AM I????

Cats are wonderful creatures. I feel so alone without one. My kitty is my pride and joy. He makes me feel better when I'm sad and he makes me feel so happy!
Also, 20 minutes of petting a purring cat can lower your blood pressure!

Noooooo! You are NOT a crazy cat person! I admire you for your love of your rescued kitten. Don't listen to what other people say, just because you love your pet doesn't mean you're a crazy cat person.
I have a red tabby that I absolutely ADORE. it is so cute! it has white paws =). It's been with me for about 6, 7 years! I wish I could adopt more cats. I see a lot of strays around my neighborhood! Maybe when I live on my own I will have more pets. I'm only a teenager living with my mom. I plan on becoming a vet when I grow up!

Well not really you just like cats a lot. At first I had just my dog and then my sister moved in and brought her cat when she left she asked if I would keep her cat. I was a little leary at first but then grew to love him lots. Then my friends cat had kittens and I couldn't resist I got another. Then 5 months after that My friends cat had kittens again and I took another. Now I have 3 cats and a dog. My cats are very spoilled They have pillow to sleep on, they have toys everywhere, they have silver bowls and each have there own litter box. I don't think I'm crazy I just love my pets.

There are loads of us out here! We have four - used to have eight (!), sadly over the last few years the older ones have passed on.
Actually I think two is pretty moderate - you have to have at least three, preferably four, before you qualify for the crazy tag!!
Seriously, I think it's brilliant that you have adopted a rescued kitten (one of our four is, two of the others were adopted from people who were having problems caring for them due to their family situations).
If you are in a position where that you can easily care for another - space-wise, finance-wise - and if it's OK with anyone you are living with then I say go for it and don't give a hoot what people say! (Though if it's someone you are living with that's giving you a hard time about it then some serious negotiation may be called for!)

Its ok. Don't worry about them. You're doing a good thing and you obviously love cats. Nothing wrong with that. So do I. I have a pretty calico cat that I love and spoil. I wish I could help more of the strays out there but one is enough to live with me right now. Don't change. You're a good person with a good heart. :))

No, one kitty does not constitute as a cat woman. Loving animals is great, there is a limit though. When you have to have the police and animal shack come and take your 33 kitties and neighbors threatening your life because the neighborhood smell like urine, then you have a problem. This is what happened to a neighbor about five houses down last year, not me!! Whoo, nasty situation.

I love black cat too, it's okay, just the way I collected lots albums in home and my mother always make a fuss about this thing, the people who doesn't like cat, they never know how lovely of the cat

I am a crazy cat person. I have pictures of my 2 cats on the internet, i have pictures on my desk at work. My computer at work has a screensaver of them. They get kitty treats every time i walk in the door. I pet them sooo much i'm suprised their furr has not rubbed off yet. I remind myself of that cat lady on the simpsons. I'm kidding about the simpsons but i do love my kitties.

My family and friends started calling me the crazy cat lady after the third. Now I have five. The love they give and entertainment they provide makes it easier to take the ribbing from everyone.
