I would use a smaller plate and also have some salad with it without any dressing as this would add extra calories which you don't need and also no cheese in the salad as this would also add extra calories and this you don't want and make sure you drink water not sweet drinks. It is a very hard decision to lose weight but stick with it and get some good information on what you can and can't eat so good luck and stick with it as you and your health will be much better off in the long run but remember it is a lifetime commitment.

Here's a hint that works for my husband and me....eat 5 almonds a half hour before dinner with a glass of water or a diet soda and not only are almonds good for you, especially for men in helping with the prostate, but they curb your appetite and you will not be as hungry once you sit down to eat a meal!

No more than 5 almonds, though, and make sure they are plain almonds - they can be salted but not the sugary kind.

Most of what I read in the other answers is good advice. Just thought I'd add this one thing:
Try exercising before you eat. Go for a walk, whatever. Exercise suppresses your appetite, so when you sit down to eat, you'll be satisfied sooner.
This works every time for me, without fail.
Good luck :)

Small portions...but more meals..

How do I deal with it? personally I like it more.. I used to feed my body till it felt full (it felt full but was actully stuffed)

Now I feed myself when I feel a hunger comming on. You stay focused more, burn more calories (coz your keeping your metablism going)

But like before after workouts I'll have a small little snack, I'll eat 1/2 portions of meals.

Anything thing to help you later on if your needing it..Drink water after eat bite you eat. this will help you prevent over stuffing yourself.

Eat slow, because it takes your brain 20 minutes to get the message that your stomach is satisfied. Also drink alot of water, because that also makes you feel full and it suppresses your appetite.

It's very easy for me. My stomach seems to shrink rather quickly, and then I'm good to go.

I do drink lots of water however which helps me feel full. So does coffee, although that's not for everyone.

A glass of wine BEFORE dinner also stifles your appetite

A few tricks.. use a smaller plate than a normal dinner plate so your plate looks FULL!

Chew slower (15-20 times per bite) so you enjoy your food longer while it's in your mouth.

If possible, try to eat with chopsticks. This can really make things interesting and slow the pace of your meals.

Drink an 8 ounce glass of water about 20 minutes before you eat so you feel fuller.

Hope these tips help you out. Good luck!

At first,it was hard, for a few days. But you have to realize your going to be satisfied. Making extra will make you eat extra, its harder to throw it away then just not make it. Youll soon get used to being satisfied and not stuffed.

Try drinking hot bouillion or tea before you eat. Or a small bowl of low-fat, low-calorie soup. It helps fill you up.
