Is it worth buying a nearly 200.00 Monster surge protector for TV and acessories that go with that area. I have a good surge protector but it is really average in comparasion to what is out there,so I am told,...I do have alot of power plugging in that area. Thanks techs, I would appreciate an opinoin.

No, you don't really need the $200surge protectors. The only difference is that those expensive ones could take massive surges like a direct hit from lightning. But the likelihood of that happening is small, so go cheap. The less expensive ones can take most everything that should be thrown at you.

I used to work at Best Buy where we pushed the Monster surge protectors because we made a HUGE profit on them! But even our T.V.'s at the store were plugged into regular surge protectors! LOL! The fancy ones are convenient because they have added plugs, but they aren't necessary.

I think if you just purchase a good one (I don't think it validates 200 dollars, unless you want to spend that much) and you should be fine.
