I have a dozen accounts that are delinquent for about 2 years now and I have been away from the US for that whole period. Can they arrest me if I come back home now?

Well under normal conditions, NO you cannot be arrested as this is civil NOT criminal. BUT you are not under normal conditions. If you come back and do NOT address this situation they may very well be able to get a supena for your arrest. This will allow an officer to physically take you into custody in order to bring you before a CIVIL court. Once this is addressed most often you are released. What you decribe is civil matters but they can become criminal at some point. I myself know someone in a similar situation. BUT they never left the US. They have been in this situation since the early 1990's To this date they still owe the money and have never been charged criminally. I wish you luck.

something sounds slightly fishy to me. people get into circumstances consistently the place they are no longer able to pay the credit card debt-i've got not at all heard of every physique being charged with a legal over it. Fraud means which you have been by some potential deceptive. It do no longer see how they could in all hazard make a cost like that stick till you misrepresented your self while filling out the utility or something. credit card abuse is a diverse tale yet provided that the unique volume replaced into purely $3 hundred i do no longer see how they could have your arrested on a legal cost for it. i might call your close by District lawyer and locate out for useful.

Generally, you are not subject to arrest for debt. You may be sued and a judgement can be handed down requiring that you pay your debts. This too is enforceable civilly. In some cases, wages and even income tax refunds may be taken. If you have defrauded any credit card company, as in lied on an application or diverted bills to fake adresses, you could possibly be arrested for that.
Mkaing a "good faith" effort to repay your bills is the best course.

The only debt for which one can be arrested is owing back child support, however, the official reason for arrest is "contempt of court" for failing to pay what the judge said to pay; semantics.
There are several things than can be done for other unpaid debts with arrearrages: repossession and/or civil judgements along with possible tax refund intercepts, liens on real property and the like.

It depends on what you do, if you make an real attempt to clear up your accounts, you will be OK, if you wait till they finally catch up with you, you could have credit problems for the rest of your life. Will you be arrested? That is entirely up to you.

NO, credit card deliquency is a civill matter, they can however sue you to collect the debt, but jail is not in your future unless you obtained the credit in a fraudulent manner.

AFAIK non-payment of a bill is a purely civil, not criminal, matter, so no, they can't arrest you.
