I missed the part about your location. I don't know about California, but Virginia has made them illegal.

Radar laser detectors are legal to own and operate in passenger vehicles in the state of California.

Currently the only state that it is illegal to operate a radar detector is Virginia and Washington D.C.

Laser jammers are illegal to operate in the states of: Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado and Washington DC.

Radar jammers are illegal to own and/or operate in all 50 states per the Federal Communications Commission.

Radar detectors are also illegal in commercial vehicles weighing over 10,000 pounds in all fifty states, per Title 49 Transportation Act.

Radar detectors are also illegal to operate on any military base.

All state laws are different. Sorry don't know about California. I know most states you can not have one in a pay for hire vehicle. Like 18 wheelers etc.

The laws vary from state to state. And I am not aware if they are legal in CA or not. BUT if you call your local court house I am sure they can tell you. OR call the Registry of motor vehicles. I know for a fact they can also tell you.

Might want to look up California law, and you don't want to be pulled over using one. I don't think their illegal in most states.

They are NOT illegal in Florida unless you have them plugged in and powered on. (Go figure) Not sure about CA.
