BA do have a lot of airline partners - International & Domestic. Flying more destinations locally will not be feasible if their schedules for the international flights would also be affected especially for connecting flights. Most of the main cities in UK were already in their route, thus would not be feasible to add more destinations unless they seems fit necessary for the market.
