Yes..."Format" is just another way of saying "Erase".
Format Drive = Erase Drive

If you FORMAT the hard drive, you will wipe everything that is on it.
PQ Magic also as the ability to RESIZE hard drive partitions. If you expand the partition into unused (free) space, you will not lose anything. If you combine two partitions, you will keep everything on the first, but wipe everything on the second partition.
However, I have used this program routinely for everal years, and while it is good, it is not infalliable. So I always make sure i have a full backup of the hard drive/partition before resizing. (Better to be safe, then sorry)
