I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.
A sight with some really cool diet calculators and interesting calorie counting calculators is here. Check it out.

Start with not looking at it as a diet but a life style change, most diets fail, you become bored and feel like your being deprived of the fun things that's been a staple in your every day life.
Get rid of all of the high fat and high sugars in your home, throw them all away, replace them with fruits and veggies even popcorn is a good snack (natural, not the butter kind).
Make yourself out a menu and go shopping for those items,
Start out easy, if your that overwieght you don't want to harm yourself. Maybe consulting your Doctor would be a good idea,or getting a good nutrtionist from the Dr's recommendation.Once you have a plan in place you will see the pounds start to come off and you can introduce exercise into your daily routine increasing as you feel more and more comfortable.. remember filling not fattening.. Best of luck to you.. been there.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Talk to a doctor about a calorie controlled diet.
Basically what you need to do is have more calories out than in.
If you have no allergies, this is a relatively easy thing.
Before you start, are you stressed out about anything, or is anything making you mad or depressed? If yes, can you change any of those things. If you are less stressed generally, your body will start functioning better.
As soon as you wake, have a glass of water with some lemon (or other citrus) juice in it.
For breakfast have some sort of cereal that has NO sugar and a good amount of bran. you need to be able to flush waste out of your body.
For lunch, bread if you like, carbs are okay. Meat, veg, fruit.
For dinner. NO POTATO, RICE, PASTA or BREAD. only meat and veg. Fruit for dessert.
DO NOT eat for 4 hours before you go to bed.
If you are starving and need snacks, fruit and nuts are fine.
If you want to splurge and eat chocolate or junk, eat it for lunch, NOT dinner. treats are okay, as long as you don't have it everyday.
And you need to exercise. for an overweight guy. Try for a 15 min walk to start with EVERY DAY. Work you way up to one hour every day. Do you live with your family? Or with friends? Go for a walk with them. That way you talk at the same time and won't get bored.
Walking is the best way to burn off fat.

Wow, this sounds really serious. If you need to loose weight so you won't die then you must be very obese. I am also obese but not morbidly obese. I feel for you. All I can say is find a doctor preferably one who specializes in weight loss -bariatric medicine- and get an appt. fast. I have heard but have no first hand experience that Nutrisystem for men does work but it's expensive.

If you are going to die, why don't you get a tummy tuck?
You have to learn that you need smaller portion sizes. I realize that you probably don't eat a lot of healthy foods.. but the real problem is probably how much you consume.
If you are going to die, I think it will be easier to not be satisfied with your food, and eat smaller portion sizes of food. Start off that way, and once you start eating less.. you can start eating healthier. GOOD LUCK!
P.S. I don't think diets work, no one ever sticks to them! I've been trying to lose 20 lbs and I can never stick to a diet!

Key points: slow cooking oatmeal is a good starting point. a table spoon of cold-milled flaxseed oil would help (in the oatmeal).also, try to eat every 2-3 hrs throughout the day to keep your blood sugar level. a salad with @ 6oz. of fresh salmon and extra-virgin olive oil makes a great lunch. also, if you`re worried about your bad cholesterol, try eating a fresh, (organic, cage-free chicken) egg in the morning (before your oats) [don`t cook the egg; sounds weird, but the choline in the yolk will actually break down your body`s bad cholesterol]. don`t forget to eat some leafy green veggies in the afternoon. supplement with some vitamins and minerals, and you`re moving in the right direction.

You mention dying? How over weight are you? Can you get out of bed?.......First if you can get out of bed then get some exercises. If you can NOT get out of bed, do something in bed such as lift weights. Start with soup cans, 3lb hand weights or higher depending on your strength lvl. ANY type of activity, legs lifts, holding arms up and out till you feel a strain, relax and repeat as often as is comfortable. Will burn calories,to a point. But you must feel them. :).....Fluids: Juice, water and lots of it. Before a meal, during a meal, after a meal. Drink, Drink,Drink. Flush you body out. Eat fat burning foods, such as,(here's a link)
http://www.webterrace.com/fat/index.htm
Have your cholesterol checked, if fine SCARF the hard boiled eggs.
Raw veggies ALWAYS a + to fill you up, as a snack (eat all you want), dip in fat free dressing(western fat free I find taste great) others not so much, But it's worth it if your serious about loosing weight. While oatmeal is fine I eat this for breakfast and sometimes as a snack before bed (warm tummy + slumber) :)....
Roman Meal hot cereal, all natural, (original with oats) has wheat, oats, rye, bran, and flax in it. VERY high fiber. And taste great, I add just a touch of honey,(NO SUGAR). You can also add maple flavoring, or a tbls of PB with a touch of honey or brown sugar. (use Brown sugar as a reward) I found this cereal at my local bread store. Breads and pastas (only in moderation)should be whole grain. Brown rice is higher in fiber and I think it taste better then white. Beans: VERY high in protein, protein burns fat.
Meats: 0 carbs HIGH protein. I only eat fish and poultry. My preferance. Link below:good carbs/bad carbs

http://www.carbs.com/
BOIL, BROIL OR BAKE.....NO FRIED FOOD, NO FAST FOOD
Good Luck, let us know how it goes.

exercise ! ( gradually but frequently ) buy yourself a good pedometer and go walking --- most pedometers show you heart rate , calorie burn and of course your steps and kilometre rating
i believe it is the safest and cheapest way to get your life back in line ( particularly if you have a weight problem ) but don't overdo it --- like anything --- you can have to much of a good thing !!
take it easy --- but work on it --- and lay off the temptations of big brekky's and any other ' junk ' food --- drink plenty of water and get into the muesli bars ( not ! choc coated ) good luck .

A good whole grain cereal. Oatmeal really fills me up in the morning. But, not the packaged stuff. Get Organic Whole Rolled Oats and after you cook it in the microwave or stovetop, sprinkle just cinnamon on it. My doctor told me that because cinnamon stablized blood sugar I think. Best of luck to you!!
