as a second person, well she never told me that she did and that was three years ago. The only reason I found out was b/c I was checking my credit score. I confronted her about it, and she said she thought I knew. How do I get my name removed and make them remove off any negative points that I got with the card without getting my mom in trouble? The card is still active with a balance of $973. I'm trying to clean up my credit so I know removing that will help.

You're only on as an authorized user and not responsible for the debt in any way shape or form. You can call both the agencies it was reported to (probably all of them) and the CC company and ask that it not be reported on your credit and get a letter from them stating that you're not a responsible party for the debt/credit card.

Being an authorized user is great, when it doesn't hurt you, but when the account holder has problems, it will hurt your credit too.

When you get the letter you can submit it to the agencies, or just submit a dispute saying it's not your debt/you're only an authorized user to each agency - experian, equifax, and transunion. Either way, it should be removed by 30-45 days at the max.

Your mom didn't commit fraud, she probably didn't realize that adding you as an authorized user would affect your credit.

Even though it is your mom, this is identity theft. Report it to the credit card company that you never authorized to be put on this account and want to be removed immediately. If you were under age when she did this (under 18) let the credit card company know that you were a minor when this all happened and per law minors can't sign contracts. A credit card is a form of contract.

Contact the credit card company and talk to their customer service department. Tell them what your mom has done and see what they can do to help you. If they are unwilling to remove you, you may have to talk to your local police about what is essentially fraud that your mom has committed.

contach credit card company who issued card and demand your name be removed immediately.

second..contact credit bureau and contest that you owe that amount to that credit card company showing up on your credit.
30 days to respond to your written compaint or it has to be removed...

you can always add a 100 word statement to your credit bureau report on any negative credit entry...

That card should be cancelled by that credit card company as fraud but your name must be removed or I would report it to police if mother did not cancel card and make restitution asap.
