There's this cat that comes into my home while I'm sleeping, and eats my cats food. I don't really care, maybe its hungry, but its a problem when I go away for a weekend and the other cat eats my cats food. Normally the food I give him will last a whole weekend, but since the other cat has been interfering, it doesn't last the night! What do I do? I can't close the window because my cat uses the sand outside to do his thing.

I would say that you either have to stay home on the weekend with your cat or buy your cat a litter box and tell him that he has to stay in while you're gone.

I would recommend one of those magnetic cat flaps, instead of leaving the window open.
The magnet opens the cat flap in either direction and is fastened to your cat's collar. If any other cat comes towards the flap it simply won't open.
A friend of mine had the exact same problem and tried everything else she could think of but there was no way to stop the other cat coming in.
The magnetic cat flaps aren't too expensive, though having it fitted to your door might be. But it's worth it if you're going through twice as much cat food feeding 2 cats!

Keeping your kitty inside is the most caring thing you can do for it. When you allow your kitty outside it faces many dangers and in return you can have some high vet bills to pay. Indoor kitties live longer, are more happy and healthier.
Outdoor kitties have many dangers they face:
cars/people that torture or kill
dogs/wildlife
diseases
If you care about the welfare of your cat you will keep it inside. And if you keep it inside then you do not have to worry about other cats coming in to eat the food.

Either teach your cat to use a litter box when he comes in at night, or hire someone from the animal services to capture the other cat if it is a stray. If it belongs to someone (collar and tags), personally return it with a request that they keep it in at night or feed it more.

Good luck.

Close the window, invest in a litter box while you go away for a weekend. Thats the only solution.

You have to get one of those magnetic cat flaps which will only allow your cat into your house (Who has a magnetic tag on the collar), also leaving a window open is a major security risk.
