In the current Sony range there are 3 32 inch models (these may be slightly different where you live). They are from entry the U series, the S series and the V series. The V and S were just updated to 2007 models, however they look identical to the old models and the only difference is that the new ones have 2 HDMI ports on the back (the U still just has the one). The U is the basic model, however it is HD ready. The S is the next step up with a swivel base and a "Bravia engine" (processor for 'more natural colour, more detail, greater picture clarity'). The V also has both of these and also what Sony call "Live colour creation" (can display abou 30% more colour than the S).

I personally would say that the choice for me would be between the S and the V. You need to go to a store where you can see them in person in order to get an idea of how they look. Wether you think the V is better or not! If you see a V or S for a too good to be true price, make sure that it's not the old 2006 model (as I said they look identical).
