he's thinking about a small ring, just off center...

now bear in mind he's 25yrs old and recently seems to be displaying signs of an early midlife crisis, what advice should i offer him?

No one of 25 has EVER had a midlife crisis.

That's because 25 isn't midlife. 40 - 45 is.

Piercings are a bit dated now, few people under 18 bother with it any more. Suggest he does something with his hair, or clothes or something instead

No, I would not find it attractive. Guys with odd piercings like that are weird, not attractive to me. Besides, that's unsanitary and tough to kiss with one. Blech
