Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. People who do not know Him, and those who wish to do THEIR own will, get irritated by Him.
There is also an influence many do not consider, and that is Satan, who hates Jesus and detests His followers.
Those who do not submit to Jesus, submit to Satan and are under his control. Therefore, they do HIS will and are open to HIS lies.

Jesus died for my sins and everyone else and I shall always be greatful for that. Why are people irritated by his name? Because they listen to the Devil/Lucifer/Prince of Darkness. Lucifer is irritated by Him because He saved us all from eternal condemnation in hell. With Jesus dying for our sins God's grace followed and that's what Lucifer doesn't like so he makes people hate Jesus for no reason in order to not recieve God's Grace. The Bible says if anyone believes in Jesus they are saved but those that don't have died already and that's what the devil wants to help people condemn their own souls to hell.

He is a little like the smart kid at school who got all A grades but on a universal scale.
That smart kid was a point of irritation for many other kids but the irritation did not come from the smart kid but whats inside the others or lack of.

We're fine with Jesus. But a lot of "non believers" are annoyed by some of the fanatical followers...

It's not Jesus... or his name. It's the followers who justify their hypocracy while stepping on others... all the while saying "Jesus loves you". It's pathetic.

i am a christian and i love the name of Jesus because it hold so much power and majesty !! i love him with all my heart for his grace and love to all people and for dying on the cross so that we May have life!!

I don't think that many people get irritated by his name. So called christians (actually Paulist) do get irritating though.

Jesus is believed by Christians to be the only son of God. I cant imagine anyone disliking Him. Except perhaps Jews, who crucified & killed him.
