Keep it, although you may feel differently about it in the future. If it wouldn't be too much of a financial hardship, have it professionally stored where it will be protected from dust, mold, etc. If at some future date you do find the right guy and take it out and look at it and it's not as gorgeous as you remember, then sell it and let the proceeds go toward your new dream gown. That one will be someone elses.

I'd keep it if you are sure that you will still love it 5 or 10 years down the road. Honestly, most ladies have an idea in their head about what "THE" dress will look like by the age of 16. If that's the case with you, I would do what some others suggested and have it professionally stored (white yellows easily!) for when you do have a use for it. Your future Mr. need not know when you bought it, and he probably won't even ask or care anyway. It's more the catty women who would have something to say anyway.

I would sell it...I am considering selling mine (I am still married). Even if you do ever get married you might want a new dress by then. I think I would want to find a new dress meant for the man I was going to marry. If you do keep it I don't think any man will ( or should!) have a problem with you having the dress already.

Get Rid Of It! It will only be a reminder, whether you want it to be or not! You wouldn't want to keep secrets from your new Husband to be, how would you explain having the dress without lying? Wouldn't be a great start for your future. You will find other dresses similar or more beautiful and by the time you are ready to be married again, your tastes may change! SELL THE DRESS!! Use the money to fix yourself up and be on your way to finding the real man of your dreams!!

LOL he probably would think you were a freak if you already had the dress, and if he knew it was the wedding dress to your ex-husband, he wouldn't like it.
I think you should keep it, I would. If it is that gorgeous, and you'd want the same one- I can see you regreting it down the road if you sold it.
I hope you stay that same dress size! And good luck finding a better man for you, I bet you'll get married down the road again, just be extra cautious!!

First, it is not strange to hold onto this dress and to actually get married in it. In fact before I got married I practically had all of the materials I needed to create my dream dress, all I had to do was sew it all together. I agree with the previous response that someone made. If you keep this dress it definitely will scare other men. But having this dress that you wanted and that you have shows that you are organized you have plans and that you are in control of yourself. My patterns, sketches and even the material scared all of my past ex's but I had made up in my mind the color and style of the dress of my dreams and I don't believe in superstitions and it being bad luck for anyone to see your dress before the wedding. My spouse saw my dress before we got married and we are on our six year together!
Keep the dress, maybe have it altered depending on season, or change in style. You picked it, your ex didn't so you should not let him be attached to it.

I would sell it. It's a HUGE reminder of what you've been through, and you don't need it. The extra money would be nice, too. Also, if you do choose to get married later, you WILL fall in love with another dress.

Get your parents or a relative to hold onto it for you... that way you won't look a freak to future boyfriends and you'll still have the dress you want to wear for your wedding!

Keep it at your mom's and if in the future you do decide to get married that is one less expense out of your pocket later.....and you don't have to tell your new boyfriend that you have your dress already.....until you are ready to walk down the isle....

The JCrew dresses are impressive! extremely nicely made, very flattering. I easily have considered both the marriage and the bridesmaid dresses on others, and that i have in my opinion worn between the bridesmaid ones. very strong deal. And the bridesmaid dresses are wearable lower back :-)
