I love the A-line ones as I'm petite so they go well with my shape, as they make you look taller and elegant. Because you are short make sure that you do not go for once of the full tent dresses because that will just swap you.

As you are in good shape you could also go for a close fitting ones.

Having been married myself and been wedding dress shopping with many friends and my sisters I can tell you this one thing:
You will go in with an idea of what you want and think that will be exactly what you will be walking out of the store with, BUT you will not know the dress that will be yours until you try it on. Its undescribable, but true, something comes over you when you put "the dress" on. Most of the time the dress you choose is nothing like you thought you would get.
Its fun to look through catalogues and online, but nothing will prepare you really for the instant you put on YOUR dress and see yourself in the mirror. Its amazing.

The most flattering wedding dress for you is the one that makes you feel gorgeous. There's "guidelines" about what dress shapes flatter what figures, but none of them are set in stone. If you feel gorgeous, you will look gorgeous. Just start trying dresses on until you find the one you love. Trust me, pictures on websites do NOT have anything to do with how they will look on you.

There are probably a ton of websites out there devoted to wedding dresses. But before you go there I'd spend a bit of time thinking about what suits you and about how you see yourself as a bride. Dream a little, draw some sketches and think about colours (white, cream, ivory, crimson?) and then go looking or you will be overwhelmed by the choices!!

go to knot.com They have a lot of wedding info on that site. You can click on gowns and then it has so many options from there. They have a section on picking the best dress for you body. Maybe even go to Brides.com Good luck!

Depends on your body type. I'm short, but really curvy so I wore a fitted corset top to accentuate the curves. I had a sweetheart neckline so my boobs wouldn't spill over the top. I don't really like my shoulders so I wore cap sleeves to cover them up. I've heard that the Cinderella type gowns look good on every body type. laces and beaded are consistently flattering, in accordance for your body variety some are unflattering, for quick each person who does not have a thoroughly flat length 2 abdomen might want to not placed on a clingy silk gown

Not strapless and not that meringue-like foamy skirt-thing that I've seen of late; no one looks good in those.
Try a bunch of different styles on; don't be fooled by how they look on hangar - you never know till you try them.
