Ask your future husband whether they'd appreciate a handshake or a kiss. Take a small gift, like a bottle of wine, or chocs or whatever is appropriate for them personally. Be respectful but friendly but don't try too hard! You cannot impress them by putting on a mask and being someone else - eventually the mask will slip and it'll be worse for you - and anyway, they're probably wise enough to detect false behaviour. Remember that they are just people too! They are probably almost as nervous as you at meeting you for the first time.

Ask your boyfriend what his parents are into, like their interests. When you first see them, if you do not know them well, do not kiss them on the cheek! Shaking hands is always appropriate. You can always find out what they like and get them a little present. It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful! Flowers are always nice for the mother. You can also find out what their hobbies are so you can discuss them in a conversation. Be yourself, loosen up. It is very obvious when someone is nervous/tense. Good luck with everything!

I would give them a hug and say it is r eally nice to meet you I have heard all about you. Leave it at that and let them start a conversation and take it from there. You will do fine and if they hate you ohh well you sound like a really sweet girl if you actually care to impress them. Good luck I was there not that long ago im married now

You don't have to impress them please; the fact that their son loves you and has decided to marry you is a big enough fact for them to be impressed.
They also might be wondering how to impress you, so you can put them at ease by simply being your self.
Ask your fiancé, are they hugging types or just a hand shake will do for them. If you are used to physical display of affection, you sure will have time to get used to it, either ways.
Take it easy, you have already met and loved parts of them, through your future husband.

the best way to impress your in laws is to BE YOURSELF if you change when you're around them then you will come across as fake.
find out from your partner what they llike and maybe give them a little gift (nothing extravigant)
remember they will be nervous too, they raised your partner and he fell in love with you, so give it time and they will too.
as to the kiss hug or handshake issue let them make the first move. follow their body language if they are touchy feely people they will let you know.
last bit of advice DON'T GET DRUNK BEFORE OR DURING THE FIRST MEETING no matter how nervous you are!!!

Just shake their hand and be friendly. I raised three kids and when they brought someone over, I could always tell when they were "fakey nice". If they came over and were stone faced I didn't appreciate that either. Just be yourself and relax. Don't try to over emphasize how close the two of you are or you will be seen as controlling. Keep the conversation light and don't try to be to deep.

Be yourself and do not put on airs cause you will have to live up to whatever you do in the future. Remember FIRST impressions last a life time.

I think you should never start out to impress someone because that will always end up in disaster! In my experience is be yourself the best you can and just take an interest in what they have to say after all their only human!

It depends on your personality. If you plan on sucking up to get something back they will see through it. If you are a generally nice person then just be yourself. Above all have confidence in yourself even if you are at a low point. Sometimes it is better to observe than trying to be the center of attention.

Take your lead from them, they might not liked to be kissed, you can usually tell when you meet them, dont try to hard, and talking about your sexlife with their precious son or daughter is not advised, you will probably all hate each other anyhow in a few years so dont worry about it
