Ok, going on a second date for this lovely girl I met though a friend at work. I am taking her to a nice Italian restaurant with wonderful dishes, a "not overly romantic" atmosphere and VERY reasonable prices (12-20 a plate). Now, I like to buy nice wines with my meals, so would you, as a woman,be freaked out if a guy were to buy a $125 bottle of wine for the meal? I've spent up to 500 bucks on a nice bottle of Ice wine, so 125 isn't REALLY that expensive in the scheme of things. OOORRRR would you rather just a couple of glasses of decent wine (8 dollars a glass)?

Get the cheaper yet decent glass of wine. For $125 bucks I'd be wondering what he wanted in return later and therefore spend the rest of the date wondering about that rather than enjoying the date and being in the moment.

I would rather have the decent cheap stuff. I have had really expensive and really cheap and there's really not that much difference. The $125 bottle makes you seem pretentious and into appearances and money too much and while it wouldn't "freak me ou" it would "turn me off". Why not find a nice $40-50 bottle. I've taken several wine classes that say that the mid-priced wine is often the best wine on the menu - much better than the really expensive stuff.

Personally, in a restaraunt with that type of atmosphere, I would be a little more uncomfortable with that than if it were a fancier restaraunt. I would stick to glasses. Especially since it's only a second date. That also gives you a little insight as to what to expect from her in the future...what kind of wine she likes, is she a big drinker, does she know anything about wine, etc.

This female is a moron. you should have: a million) not given her any own information. the really time you supply out own information is even as a police officer asks for it or once you get right into a vehicle coincidence. merely because some fool psycho female demands it does not mean you should furnish her ****. 2) Traded e mail addresses with all the different witnesses so that you'll help one yet another's description of the activities might want to she be stupid sufficient to attempt to sue ... in which case you'll have a strong counter-suite for harrassment

I would rather you spend a couple $8 glasses and (we all know what wine leads to) then you could give me the extra $80 bucks after LOL

2nd date. Go with a more moderate price wine. You don't want her to think she's expected to any thing that would make her unconfortable.

No that wouldn't freak me out. You earned that money, do as you please with it. Hell if you waited to flush it down the toilet, so bid. I would be honored to know that a guy would spend that much money on me for a bottle of wine.

Well, it wouldn't freak me out. However, unless I knew this guy was the consummate oenophile and this was usual behavior for him, I would wonder what he was trying to prove. But if he was expecting me to appreciate it as much as he did, he would be sadly disappointed.
