My Temple has no bell. It has a really cool glass dome.
We don't call our followers to come to temple. They come without reminders.
And as far as church and mosque bells go. They all sound like bells.

Church bells are usually pretty large compared with temple bells. And they hang rather than sit on a cushion. And they're designed more for volume than tonal quality.
That said, there's no sweeter sound than Big Ben and the other Westminster chimes in London.

Temples? As in Jewish temples? I never heard bells from a temple in my life, and I grew up three blocks from one. The Baptist church down the road and the Catholic church I attended as a kid set up an unholy racket every Sunday, but I don't think the Jews use bells.

Yes, Plain Jane, they are very different.

I am going to answer this, hoping that you are probably referring to Hindu/Indian temples...

Churches normally have really larger bells ranging between 18 inches to 40 to 60 inches...!

Temple bells, are quite small, about 6 to 12 inches in height...

Church bells have that unique dong-.-.-.-.-.dong-.-.-.-.-.dong-.-.-.-.dong tolling sound, and is rung using a rope arrangement.

A temple bell is rung rapidly using the gong to bang it against the sides, making it sound more like the frequency of the old ice-cream truck and it goes ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding.
Temple bells are normally usually rung by the worshipers themselves, although certain ceremonies require the priest to ring his hand carried bell too...

Hope that helps....

Bells is bells. Size and shape has a lot to do with sound.

Of course churches are smaller than temples, the echo in a temple will vibrate further hence a long echo sound while in a church not so much experiment yourself!!
