From a Buddhist.

It depends on your intention. If your intention to name the cat is to insult Buddhist, then you are creating bad karma with your hatred. If you named the cat Buddha because you respect Him,then you are creating good karma with your compassion.
Hope this help.

Sweetheart...don't fall into the habit or practice of thinking that everything a Christian can or can't do...is the most important thing about being a Christian. Early in my Christian life I went through that...should I let my children have certain pillowslips? should I let them play video games? should I let them watch tv programs about witches, should let my children go to Halloween activities? Should I have a Christmas tree?My son came to me and said, "Mum, Christianity is just don't do this and don't do that." Christians and parents do have to be careful about some things but more important is love, peace, and joy shining out of us...so people will want what we have. Christianity is not a set of rules as long as your arm.
No harm will come to you if you call your cat "Buddah" It's cute, makes me think of a fat little fellow. You are not in the least worshipping buddah or causing a gate way to evil. Please keep a sense of humour. Some Christians worry about the most ridiculous things. It doesn't matter what your pillowslip has on it or if you decorate a tree for Christmas. What matters is getting to know Jesus and His Father increasingly day by day. And listening when He speaks and loving others. Who knows ...calling your kitten Buddah might start a very interesting discussion with someone who isn't a Christian yet! Don't add anymore "laws" than God Himself has put in the Bible. Pray and ask for wisdom and discernment as God delights to give us good gifts.

Heck no, neither Buddah or his teachings are bad. They have helped generations of people to live in greater harmony with the earth and one another. Jesus is the gateway and center but there are many prophets with great works. Thats a cool name for a cat.

As long as it wasn't intended to be malicious it should be fine. Buddha wasn't a name anyway it was more like a title.... the last Buddha Siddhartha, is what people usually refer to when they say "Buddha" but there have actually been many Buddhas and there will be more.

its a name, put into it what you like, i assume you see this cat as a statue you have viewed etc. nothing wrong with that, Buddha had many aspects in texts. i am not a christian by definition, but i suggest you should be stronger in your faith, and i say this only as i would say it to my best friend. be strong in spirit and don't get stuck in semantics

Yes all cats should just be called cat. or kitty. my dogs are all called Dawg.its is unnatural and totally against Gods will to call an animal a southern mans name as Southerners are Gods chosen people.as is written .It must be so.Budda is so close to the name bubba that this has to be so. according to the will of God.Buddha was a nice fellow by the way.

Not wrong at all.
Only that it proves the hollowness of the claims of tolerance and love that are made by Christians.
