As a child I loved them equally but as I became older and able to understand the (accepted) workings of a "family", my Mom is the one whom I love most. She is now 84 and lived to see my abusive father take the "trip to hell" as she refers to it. There is nothing that I would not do for her and even though I have a sister, I am my Mom's primary caregiver, and would not have anyone else care for her, I ask and get nothing from my sister and until the day God calls my Mom home, I will be her eyes, her legs, her hands and anything else she will require of me, because she is my mother and she has been there for me, through much.

That's an interesting question. I don't think it makes a difference at all. If you are both the biological parents, you each have an equal say, until a court determines otherwise. The last name doesn't have anything to do with it. I like Smith-Bailey better. I think traditionally, people use the mother's name first and end with the father's name.

I love both my parents, or should I say all 3 of them. My real father died when I was 8 years old, but I still love him at age 44. My step dad married my mom when I was 20 and I love him as much as my mother and real father. I really don't think you can love one more than the other, just like you can't love one child more than the other.

I love both of my parents. I don't think I can personally say I love one more than the other. I love them differently because they are different people. My relationships with them are different. I feel closer to my mother but that doesn't change the love I have for my father.

I love them both equally. Although my father was never really around much, they are both my parents and i can't change that. I am their flesh and blood, and love them the same. I wouldn't like it if they said they loved one of my sisters more than me. I know they love us all the same too.

Brudda. Both brought you into this World. That should give you reason to honor Both. Understand that you are lose `em, at sometime in your Life. [Fact of Life]. Spend every minute, with `em. Like it was your last. And be there, for `em.

I'm closer to my dad - but he drives me up the wall because we're too alike. My mum is a lot more understanding than my dad. So basically you do need both, even if you feel you can relate more to one than the other.

The consensus seems to be mom. Every pro athlete or ordinary person on TV always says "Hi, Mom. Wouldn't it be nice if someone had the cojones to say "Hi, Dad?

Tough our mothers have nurtured us most of our lives, it is only far to love your parents equally. That's the best gift you can give them!
