Fairly new to this forum, sincere question about use of word "God." Is it general practice here to mean Christian (Holy Trinity, someone just clarified) God when you say "God."
I ask wondering if the fact that a billion-plus Muslims worship a non-Christian god is generally ignored here.
Pls no flaming, thanks.

I believe that when people believe in God, that we all believe in the same God.
There is no such thing as a christian God.
To be a christian means that you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and is your savior.
Example: A Baptist and a Jew believe and worship the exact same God, but a jew does not recognize Jesus as the son of God there for they are not Christians, meaning Little Christ.

Those of us who are not worshippers of the god of the Abrahamic religions tend to use a different term, or have to define what we mean, because otherwise yes, it is assumed that we are talking about their god.
This is true even if the question is asked by (some) atheists.
Welcome to the forum. I hope you have thick skin.

I would say that most of the time they use the word God on this forum they mean the christian God. That's because the majority of the people on this forum are either christians or christian haters.

I've noticed that a more than a few of the Christians on here think they "own" God. But ya know - God is too big for just one religion. God is any supreme being - or power.
To me - God is Love. You're going to find all kinds on Yahoo Answers. I find it's always best not to clump - or assume.

Love me; Love my dog. I think the Christian God is the full house of the Trinity. Muslims do not want to have any mystery to balk themabout three in one andone in three and the like. But if they love and worship one of the three, I should think they are not hating the others. But perhaps they do not love God enough or they would know the entire house of God.

It depends on the question.
As for Muslims, the ones I know personally generally refer to their god as 'Allah' instead of 'God'.
But I'd like to know that the only God is the God of all people. Or, as you call it, "the Christian God".

Since it's pretty much only christians who don't realize this, an unqualified 'god' always means theirs. (unless somebody educated is talking about the concept in general)

Jews, Muslims, and Christians worship the same god. Whether or not they choose to acknowledge that is another matter.
Grammatically, "God" refers to the god of the monotheistic, Abrahamic religions. Uncapitalized, "god" refers to the god of any religion in general.
