I'm aware that most christians believe that got stopped talking to men. whenever i bring up the idea that god might still talk to us they get very defensive and tell me "the heavens are closed." where in the bible does it say that god was no longer going to talk to humans? after all the examples in the old testament of god talking directly to prophets, and his amazing miracles that he worked. now there are none? why? and prove this to me using the bible.

please only answer if you are going to take this seriously.

I don't know what kind of Christians you've been around, but I don't know of any that believe God ever stops talking to us. In fact, my church teaches we can always be in touch with God and it's our decision to speak with God at any time. You can't prove what you've heard through the Bible because it's not in the Bible, which all our facts should be taken from.

None of the Christians I know believe that heaven is closed to men. You won't find any new evidence in the bible cos they stopped writing new stuff after the Revelations. Prophets? Joan of Arc talked to St Bernadette, Bernadette, as a young girl in France in 1858 spoke to Our Lady and from these meetings we now have Lourdes, a place where miracles happen every day. St Francis spoke with angels, lots of people see and speak to angels. These are modern miracles and proofs of God speaking to prophets and performing miracles. Maybe, all you need to do is believe that He is and will talk to you too, if you just 'be still and listen'. Good luck.

I believe that God stopped His written revelation. I see no reason why God can't still work miracles and I believe that He does. I also see no reason why God couldn't still speak to people and I still believe that He does. But that is not inspired scripture. If someone truly believes that God has spoken to Him, He needs to check it out against the scriptures. If what God told him to do is contrary to any part of the scriptures then it didn't come from God. If God tells him something is going to happen in the future, then just wait and see if it happens. If it doesn't, then it didn't come from God. We know for a fact that the scriptures are inspired by God. We don't know that about the so-called prophets.

The Bible is your answer. 40 writers over 1500 years. ending with John at his very old age. by then it was complete.
It has all the information we are able to handle at this time.
Also it has been promised that further information will be made available AFTER armageddon.
(Revelation 20:12) And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds.
What we have is desribed at (2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Note; completely equipped. Extra words are un-necessary.

Which planet are you from ? What kind of "christians" are you talking about that believe this ? Christianity is all about being close to God, not being distant from Him. God has been working miracles and showing His presence from the very beginning and will continue till the end of time and beyond to eternity when we are in His presence.

I most definitely believe God still talks to us. Mankind has just gotten so involved with everything else that is going on in the world that we aren't always tuned in to His voice. He talks through everything around us and within us - we just need to learn how to listen! There was a book I read once, can't remember the author but it was called 'Hearing God's voice'. Sure u will be able to find it.

Jesus said in John 10:27 'My sheep hear My voice, and I know them. And they follow Me.'

The above scripture shows clearly that the Lord desires all His people to hear His voice and for this reason the Lord has said He knows them and that they are the ones who follow Him. Jesus is our personal Lord and Savior and He wants to speak to us directly and when we can hear Him then He can really be our Good Shepherd. The following scripture shows that Jesus wants to dine (and have a heart to heart talk) with those who can hear Him.

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door. I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

We are the temples of the Holy Spirit and He is inside of us waiting for us to acknowledge His presence and to talk to Him and He to us; to be our Teacher, our Counsellor and our Comforter. Those who cannot carry on a conversation with the Lord miss out knowing Him personally and intimately.

I feel he still does... Its not like a face to face confrontation where you hear a booming voice bellowing down from the clouds.. "Thou arent doing what I asked of YOU"... etc etc
some of the prophets received their revelations via dreams and visions..
Well I feel if you pray, sometimes you get the gut feeling or a revelation in an idea that just popped into your mind that is a answer to your dilema you had.. To me, that is God talking to you.. Accept it and be thankful

Tell you what. Stop writing God with a lower case G.

Next, every person who says they are a christian are not as serious as others.

God does speak to us, with the Holy Bible. The Holy Spirit also leads us.

You see, this is absolutely a "faith-based" question. I know God Exists like I know there is a sun. There's signs all around- nope- no more formal revelations, but yes, God Shows signs everytime, we simply do not heed them.
