Chronic is long term! Do you mean Bronchitis? If so your GP will be able to prescibe drugs to control the symptoms and refer you to a respiratory specialist nurse for lifestyle advice and support. Unfortunately it isn't curable but many are able to live with the disease without too many problems.

Sadly, yes. If you smoke, stop now as smoking makes you more susceptible to repeated infections. I'm not preaching as I've just been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis and have started on patches to help me quit.

Chronic means its a long-term condition.
You may have times where it is settled or times where it exacerbates.
Sorry to hear you suffer from this.
If you smoke, nows the time to stop.
