I normally could record sound when filming videos. I have recently plug a microphone into the camera and changes some settings from the menu. Now I can't record sound when recording videos. THis HandyCam's model is DCRHC30. I have turned up the Volume, and I can hear sound from footages I recorded from before. I have tried to reset (by pushing the resent buttom on the side) it didn't help either. I know this is a result of something I did, but not sure what. Like I said I try to plug a microphone into its mic plug a few days ago.

Unplug the mic and try again. If it works then its the mic's problem. I had the same problem with a mic, I think it has something to do with stereo and mono. The camera records in stereo, but the mic was a mono mic, and it was a mono plug as well, so i think that was the problem. If thats the case, see if you can find an adapter that can make it a stereo plug and it should work. Hope this helps!

Not sure if it is a defect. Did you turn the sound on.
